LAKME BLUSH AND GLOW FACEWASH REVIEW

One product which you always ALWAYS need, be it normal work days, fun filled vacations or lazy weekends when you just don’t wanna go out, is…yes! you guessed it right….your FACEWASH. And since this is one thing you’re going to use EVERYDAY, it has to be chosen with care coz it’s going to have maximum effect on your skin. For someone having a super-sensitive skin, I’m always on the lookout for a product which will be gentle on skin while still actively cleaning all the grime our face acquires through the day.

In today’s post I’m going to Review Lakme Blush and Glow Facewash and will find out whether it passes my test or not.

Lakme is India’s leading cosmetic and skincare brand, so naturally you have very high expectations from each of it’s products. It’s brand image is something that immediately differentiates it from countless other Indian brands flooding the cosmetic and skincare market these days. I therefore decided to try out Lakme Blush and Glow Facewash which is available in the Indian market since a very long time.

PACKAGING: The facewash comes in a sturdy but flexible tube. The tube is transparent and hence the product inside (which is lovely red in color) is visible from the outside. It is soft and easy to squeeze too. The cap has a flat top making it easy to keep upside down. The cap can be flipped open to take out the product( I absolutely hate when facewashes don’t have a flip cap and have to be opened fully.)

COMPANY CLAIM: “Crafted by Lakme Salon experts, This gel facewash is infused with soft cleansung beads and strawberry anti-oxidants known to nourish skin. It gently cleanses your skin and effectively washes away dirt, impurities and pollution, leaving your skin with a blush like glow.”

INGREDIENTS: Aqua, Glycerin, Sodium Laureth sulphate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Acrylates Copolymer, Sodium Chloride, Perfume, Mirocrystalline  wax beads, Sodium Hydroxide, Menthol, DMDM Hydantoin, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Iodopropynyl Butyl Carbamate, Strawberry fruit extract,CI73360, CI 14700, CI 17200, Butyl Phenyl Methylpropional, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamaldehyde, Limonene, Linalool.

FIRST IMPRESSION: The facewash is in the form of a gel and is beautiful strawberry red in colour. It has tiny beads as claimed and you can feel them while applying on your face. It has a very mild fruity fragrance which reminds you of strawberries but doesn’t stay for long. You can smell it only when you take it out of the tube. The gel lathers well and gives a fresh feeling. It gives a slight tingling feeling just after wash but otherwise causes no immediate side effects.

AFTER REGULAR USE: With regular use I noticed a darkening in skin tone and skin becoming patchy and uneven. It clears out the dirt and grime but for someone like me who has an oily skin then the oil doesn’t clear off completely or feels clear only for a few minutes. It doesn’t cause any allergy and side effects even after continuous usage.

PRICE: 50 gm pack costs Rs. 99.00 Buy here

100 gm pack costs Rs. 175.00 Buy here

Lakme Blush and Glow facewash comes in your budget and although there are other Indian brands offering their products at much cheaper range for the same weight, you get a product from brand name Lakme for a very slight increase in price.

CONCLUSION: It might be a good product but I’ll not want to use it the second time. Its affordable but the problems like skin darkening, patchiness etc are too huge a price to pay.

MY SCORE: 6/10
